Weyde has extensive experience with choirs participating in competitions and is happy to share her experience and insights with conductors, choristers and others.
Topics will include:
- Planning the repertoire
- Efficient and targeted rehearsals
- Identifying suitable repertoire for a competition
- Practical planning
- Mental and physical preparations
There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions relating to your own participation in upcoming competitions.
Marit Tøndel Bodsberg Weyde is the conductor and artistic director of the professional choir Kilden Vokalensemble as well as Den norske Studentersangforening and Kvindelige Studenters Sangforening,
two leading academic choirs based at the University of Oslo.
Weyde is Assistant Professor of conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Music and gives postgraduate classes in ensemble singing at the University of Agder.
Weyde regularly holds seminars, workshops and master classes, for both conductors and singers. She is also a frequent jury member in several choir competitions.
She has contributed to numerous recordings; as a singer, as a flutist, and as a conductor.
As a conductor, Weyde has won several national and international competitions with her choirs.
For her achievements as a conductor, Weyde has received several awards, e.g. at the International Anton Bruckner Choir Competition in Linz.
