17:00-17:40: Two selected Icelandic choirs will perform a short concert in The Sun at Reykjavik University:

  • The Katla Women’s Choir was founded in 2012 by women who wanted to meet regularly and contribute to an empowering community of women through singing. The choir consists of almost 90 women, most of them aged 20-40, who come from various backgrounds but enjoy singing and express creativity with courage and strength.
Directors: Hildigunnur Einarsdóttir & Lilja Dögg Gunnarsdóttir
  • Huldur Chamber Choir was founded by choir director and composer Hreiðar Ingi Þorsteinsson in autumn 2021. Huldur appears in Icelandic folk tales and poetry as a being that lives in river canyons or deep in the ocean and makes waves by singing and playing the langspil. Choir members are 19–23 year old high school graduates.
